  Delhi NCR Chapter

A significant event was recorded in the history of ISEG when The Delhi-NCR Chapter was formally launched on 8-2-2010 at NPTI Auditorium, Faridabad during one day workshop organized for same. The new regional chapter was launched by Dr. P.C. Nawani, President, ISEG and Dr. Faquan Wu, Vice President (Asia), IAEG by lighting the ceremonial lamp.

The event was a great success which is indicated by the fact that it got very good support from the engineering geology/ geotechnical fraternity of Delhi and NCR region and was attended by 106 delegates who became members of the Delhi-NCR Chapter for year 2010. The event was whole heartedly supported by ISEG and co-sponsored by M/s. Patel Energy Resources Pvt. Ltd., NOIDA and M/s. Teesta Urja Pvt. Ltd., New Delhi. Other frontline organizations that are active in the field of engineering geology and geotechnique such as NHPC, CRRI, ICCS, GMR, EPIL, NTPC, SNC- Lavalin, and Reliance Energy had also nominated strong contingents of delegates along with their best wishes for the new Delhi-NCR Chapter. M/s. ATES & MRIU were also represented at the workshop besides some individual delegates who participated enthusiastically. ISEG was represented by its President, Secretary, Joint Secretary and many Council Members some of whom had come from distant places like Kolkata, Kolar and Lucknow to attend the workshop. The presence of many well known Engineering Geologists and Geotechnical Experts from Delhi- NCR region and other places including Dr. Faquan Wu, from China, representing IAEG and a number of Council Members of ISEG added to the success of the event as a whole.
